As our pieces are fashion jewellery, they are ‘plated’ with precious metals and not gold-filled. Plenty of jewellery sites say their products are water proof and sweat proof, truly deceiving ad practices, but if they are plated - there will always be risk of eventual tarnish and oxidisation over time.
You will find even real gold and genuine sterling silver items will over time will tarnish with use.
Therefore care should be taken in making your plated pieces last longer and prevent tarnish or extreme oxidisation.
It is best to keep dry when possible and avoid:
- Exposure to too much sweat
- Continual and constant exposure to water
- Continual and constant contact with chemical substances, including lotion, hand sanitisers etc.
Where possible, it is ideal to keep in a dry and sealed area - such as a jewellery box or container with a lid.
